Two years after their first duo concert at Atelier du Plateau in Paris, the duo of Tatiana Paris and Karsten Hochapfel literally charmed the audience at A l’Improviste with their freshness—one might even say candor—in any case, their radiant joy and inventiveness. Their collaboration is relatively recent, but they have already recorded an album with a title poetic and original enough to stick in your mind: Musiques gribouillées (Scribbled Music), a nod to the collages and drawings by their children that accompanied their very first concert via a projection. The two guitarists (Tatiana also plays bass and Karsten cello) share a meteoric rise in their careers and a penchant for diverse aesthetics and unconventional paths. These qualities make them sought-after musical partners: they are therefore very active!
